Rana Saoud currently serves as the Special Agent in Charge for HSI Nashville, TN, where she oversees all operations and investigative activities for Tennessee and Kentucky. These investigations cover narcotics trafficking, violent crime, global trade, money laundering, cyber enabled crime, and human exploitation.
Prior to this assignment, she served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the ICE Director. Ms. Saoud provided strategic advice and counsel related to HSI’s investigative portfolio to DHS leadership, ICE executive leaders including the ICE Director, Deputy Director, HSI Executive Associate Director (EAD) and the Deputy EAD.
Previously, she served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the National Security and Global Trade Investigations Division within HSI Miami. In this role, she oversaw numerous investigations and operations related to threats to the United States, intellectual property rights, commercial fraud, counter-proliferation, and violent gang investigations. She also oversaw HSI Miami’s Southern Division, which included all HSI disciplines within the Florida Keys and Homestead.
Ms. Saoud’s other leadership positions included Group Supervisor, where she supervised the Panama Express North Strike Force in Tampa, FL. She also held several key leadership positions within HSI headquarters’ Investigative Programs; she created and implemented the Illicit Digital Economy Program for HSI. Ms. Saoud was also a program manager at National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center and was later appointed to the position of Special Assistant to the Assistant Director.
During her career, Ms. Saoud worked as an Assistant Attaché in London, England and special agent in Orlando, FL. She began her career with the U.S. Customs Service as a special agent in 1998. Ms. Saoud has over 25 years of federal law enforcement experience. She holds a master’s degree from Florida State University and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of North Florida.
