Ms. Nina Ferraro is the Deputy Chief Procurement Officer (DCPO) for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), having been appointed to this role on September 27, 2021. In this role, she assists the Chief Procurement Officer by managing the Department’s Procurement Line of Business, which spans nine operational procurement activities supporting each of the Department’s Components. Prior to her appointment as DHS’s DCPO, Ms. Ferraro served as Senior Advisor to DHS’s Chief Procurement Officer, from June 2019 through July 2021 and Acting Deputy Chief Procurement Officer from August 2021 through September 26, 2021.
Ms. Ferraro first joined the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) as the Executive Director of Strategic Programs in August 2016. In this capacity, she was responsible for strategic communications, strategic sourcing, strategic planning, and industry engagement activities. From April 2017 through May 2019, Ms. Ferraro served as the Acting Deputy Chief Procurement Officer. Before joining the OCPO team, Ms. Ferraro was the Senior Procurement Executive at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Prior to joining OPM, Ms. Ferraro served for eight years as the Director of Acquisitions at the Federal Protective Service, and prior to that spent over 23 years with the Department of the Navy in various acquisition and leadership positions.
Ms. Ferraro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chestnut Hill College and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Rosemont College.
