Ms. Shani Spivak currently serves as Director for Emerging Technology and International Collaboration at the National Security Council. Prior to joining the White House, she was the FBI’s Senior National Intelligence Officer for Technology specializing in emerging and disruptive technologies with much of her work focused on data science and AI ethics. She founded the FBI’s Women in Tech special interest group and chaired the FBI’s Data Science Community of Practice. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the National Intelligence University. Ms. Spivak started her public service career in the U.S. Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps and has served as team co-Champion for the 2021 DHS Analytic Exchange Program’s Increasing Threat of DeepFake Identities team and Champion for the 2022 Ethical Frameworks in Open Source Intelligence team.
